Abstract:
The Cerrado, for many, is recognized for its richness of water and biodiversity. However, this immense diversity in its territory has undergone serious transformations, resulting from the process of modernization of the field implemented by government policies and technology packages, leading to major consequences in the socioeconomic scenario and landscapes. To carry out the research, the Cerrado territory was problematized, which undergoes transformations that possibly metamorphosed the social representations of the inhabitants who live in this territory. At this point, we will try to understand the social representation of the Cerrado made by elementary school students II. The research aims to interpret the Goiás Cerrado from the social representations of elementary school students from rural schools in Rio Verde city. The methodological procedures used for the development of the research consisted of bibliographical surveys, composed by books, articles, dissertations. Eighty questionnaires were applied to the students, with semi-structured questions. Spontaneous drawing was produced, allowing students to illustrate the representations of the Cerrado. Thus, the students' interpretation of drawings demonstrates that there's a group that considers the Cerrado modernized and urbanized, and that presents in its conception the actions that transform the Cerrado territory. However, it presents a group that represents the Cerrado nature, in which stands out a lyrical and prefect landscape of nature. Finally, there's another group of students that emphasizes the Cerrado environmental problems, designing several problems, such as deforestation and pollution, which consequently cause damage and transform the Cerrado territory. During the research, it was possible to unveil and interpret the representations made by the students.
