Abstract:

The education offered to the countryside populations must take place in such a way as to lead them to value their way of life and to understand their different realities in the vast and heterogeneous Brazilian countryside, so that they can value and transform them from their own place of experience. It's known that the Brazilian countryside has great diversity of subjects, such as riverine, family farmers, quilombos remnants, indigenous, among others. Therefore, an Education in/of the Field that seeks to contemplate such diversity is necessary. Thus, the goal of this study was to characterize and analyze the education that has been offered in the countryside in Jataí municipality, located in Goiás Southwest marked by the strong expressiveness of capitalist agriculture. The methodological procedures adopted were the bibliographic survey on the subject, application of semi-structured forms, analysis and consultation in official documents that guide the pedagogical work such as the Pedagogical Political Project, curriculum guidelines and textbooks. It's recognized the occurrence of some benefits brought by the existing rural schools in the city, such as offering literacy and other learning. However, Jataí is a municipality in which there's a predominance of capitalist agriculture in which a conception of life and work is disseminated that values ​​capitalist production and the urban way of life. As a result, there is a hegemony of this orientation in the applied conceptions to the education practiced in the municipality countryside, offering an urbancentric education in detriment of the rural one, so that it tends to nullify a genuine emancipatory education of the rural peoples.
