Abstract:
The Ribeirão Paraíso watershed, in the stretch that includes the Santa Rita settlement and São Pedro farm, Jataí municipality (GO), currently has springs at an advanced stage of degradation. Therefore, it's important to study riparian vegetation, describing its composition, structure and state of conservation. This study is relevant, since it has been observed that in the last five years there has been a reduction in the volume produced in the watercourses, a resource that is essential for the practice of agriculture and livestock activities in rural areas, object of this study. Based on this consideration, this study was carried out with the goal of elaborating an environmental diagnosis and describing the composition and conservation status of the fragments around six springs in the Paraíso stream basin, in the stretch comprising the Santa Rita settlement and São Pedro Farm, with relevant scientific information for future riparian vegetation recovery projects. Six springs were analyzed by classification as to the conservation status and floristic composition of these areas.
