Abstract:
The objective of this work was to characterize the environmental changes through physical environment variables over a 30-year interval, presenting the results in maps of use, occupation and vegetation cover, in Aporé and Itajá municipalities, in Goian South mesoregion. The classes were predefined in agriculture, pasture, remaining vegetation, exposed soil/urban area and water. Pasture was the class with the highest percentage of area coverage in both 1985 and 2015, and showed an increase of 12.9% in this range. The remaining vegetation was the class with the largest decrease in area, with a loss of 13.1% of the areas in the same period. The research was directed to these two municipalities, by the proposal to create a Conservation Unit (UC) at the border between Aporé and Itajá municipalities. The results obtained by the mapping combined with the high environmental vulnerability of the area indicated for probable UC, underscore the importance of temporal characterization of the physical environment through satellite images, generating knowledge and support for the implementation of public policies related to sustainable techniques for production and production. conservation of natural resources. Also as goal of this work was carried out the phytosociological survey, as a way to know the patterns of tree vegetation in two areas of Seasonal Forests (Deciduous and Semidecidual). The results showed a high diversity of species, with the occurrence of endangered species and protected by law, inserted in a remnant vegetation fragment, composed of phytophysiognomies mosaic, which vary from savannah to forest formations, from the Cerrado Biome, reinforcing the importance of creating a UC in this region, thus ensuring the conservation of natural resources.
