ABSTRACT:
In this paper we assume that geography studies geographic space. This space is the continuous result of socio-spatial relations, and cannot be separated from time. Periodization is required to understand how human relations, in their process of transforming nature, construct spatial organization, which is marked by different historical periods. This periodization (temporal clipping) depends on the indentation necessary to understand how a given reality materializes in the present. It is also necessary to establish a connection between these periods so that “frozen times” are not taken in an analysis as phenomena that accumulate without participation in the current reality. The inherited spatial uses bring their contents that, with more or less tensions, participate in the present spatial dynamics. The methodological feature of geohistory makes it possible to analyze the different spatial conformations over a given period of time. It's to think of space in a temporal perspective, and to seek its empiricization in the built spaces. The research undertaken here has the guiding question based on understanding to what extent inherited spaces participate in the current spatial conformation of Israelândia-Go municipality, which had its occupation originated from mineral exploration in the first decades of the eighteenth century, in the Bandeirante period, with the discoveries and the beginning of the exploration of the mineral provinces (gold and diamonds), in the present state of Goiás, between 1721 and 1725, by the flag of Bartolomeu Bueno, Anhanguera Filho, who, following the directions of the Anhanguera Pai, returns to the region and assumes control of mineral exploitation and begins its colonial settlement. The Arraial do Bomfim (later sequentially Pilões, Rio Claro, Rio Claro Distrito Diamantino do Rio Claro and Comércio Velho) was the initial milestone for the settlement of the current region of Israelândia. The settlement of this region in its early days was associated with the mining process and thus sometimes formed cores, sometimes these cores were emptied, following the cycle of mine discoveries and decay near the Rio Claro. With the decline of mining, for a long time the settlement followed the logic of agricultural occupation. In this context, the general objective of the research is to analyze the constitution of the spatial dynamics of the Iporá microregion, from the municipality of Israelândia, seeking to establish the connections between the different periods of its formation, verifying to what extent these inherited spaces participate in the spatial organization. current region. This is an exploratory research, which dialogues with authors who dealt with this theme in different perspectives, starting with the reports of travelers who reached the region in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Secondary data were collected from magazines, newspapers and surveys were carried out on historical documents (IHG, IPHBC, Cidade de Goiás Museums, etc.), IBGE, Mauro Borges Institute. Primary information was gathered from conversations and interviews with residents living in Israelândia and Iporá cities. The results show that many of the events in the region are present in the spatial configuration that constitutes Israelia in the current period. Thus, we understand that the analytical perspective undertaken by this research sought to contribute to understanding the socio-spatial reality of Israelândia. However, it became clear that, in addition to the other analyzes preceding this research, there are still gaps that need further research.
