Abstract:
The work presented here emerged from professional and personal aspirations, based on the performance of a project developed by the Center for Studies, Research and Extension in Family Farming - NEA /UFG, in the Rio Claro Settlement Project (PA) in Jataí-Go. The purpose is to analyze the socio - spatial trajectory of the families of this settlement, and to verify the influence of these trajectories in the current phase of their lives, while settled. Thus, some specific objectives were outlined, such as analyzing the socio-spatial trajectory of P. Rio Claro's families in the phases prior to the establishment of this settlement: the phase prior to the struggle for land and the phase of struggle for land; understand how the constitution of the P.A. occurred and find out what are the influences of the socio-spatial trajectories of families in the process of socio-productive organization of the settlement. These trajectories were divided into three phases, the phase prior to entering the struggle for land, which forms the basis of the first chapter of the work; the phase of struggle for the land, which underlies the second chapter; and, finally, the current phase of their socio-spatial trajectories, while settled, constituting the third chapter. In accordance with these objectives, we used the following methodological instruments that enabled the development of this study: bibliographic and documentary research, through data provided by the Rural Workers Union of Jataí and the DATALUTA database, which enabled the collection of secondary data; field research, using, as data collection instruments, a questionnaire with closed and open questions and a semi-structured interview, which provided the collection of primary data. The questionnaire obtained the participation of the 17 families that make up the Rio Claro settlement, with a total of 19 people, 10 families participated in the interview, totaling 13 people surveyed. After conducting this study, it can be concluded that researching the socio-spatial trajectories of the peasants of the Rio Claro PA was fundamental to understand the social and productive relations established in the settlement and among the researched group, being able to identify the origins of the families, because they were expropriated land, how they entered the struggle for land movement and how they gave rise to the settlement that today guarantees them the reproduction of their ways of life through work on the “piece of ground” they conquered.
