Abstract:

The pesticide from the Second World War is present in daily life, then the Green Revolution, which led to agricultural expansion in Brazil, hence the southwest region of Goiás. The toxic product has an intimate relationship with agribusiness, inserted as a means protection and production at the same step as contaminants this production chain. Through the manufacturers and reselling, conceives the poison stigma, environmental imbalance caused. Included in this system are the major producers and farmers, who through the Brazilian land reform policy, (re)create their ways of living and working in rural settlements. This study examined the use of pesticides in Jataí municipality and Três Pontes Settlement Perolândia (GO), in order to reveal the impact of these products on public health and is suitable for legislation. We investigated the quantity of products marketed in the study area; the use of Personal Protective Equipment, PPE; knowledge of the agronomic prescription, mandatory item in the acquisition of these products and the correct disposal and triplece washing of empty containers. This is a qualitative research, opting for the field study. It was used as data collection instruments: the observations, questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The subjects were the dealers chemical companies of these municipalities; grain producers in Jataí (GO) municipality; regulatory agencies control the use of pesticides and disposal of empty containers, plus twelve settlers, the settlement Three Bridges, representing 27.9% of the settler community. It was found that the reality of the settlement and the large properties differs in the sense of autonomy and sovereignty productive, but both use agrotóxidos indiscriminately in their crops. This study allowed us to understand the amount and dynamics in the use of pesticides, and presents data on cases of diseases and deaths by contact and use of pesticides, getting clear that the users of those surveyed chemicals neglect all necessary care for your good use and management. It's clear that there are more effective need for the involvement of public authorities, contributing to the surveillance, monitoring of those involved in reducing health hazards and environmental damage. As seen throughout the work regarding the use of pesticides subjects not meet current lesgislação.
